Olope, Aliu Declares interest in Ward B Oworonsoki Councillorship Seat

Sequel to the earlier post I made today about the Ward B Councillorship Aspirants, Two other Aspirants has entered the race, having consulted some of the leaders. The new additions are Sheriff Titilope Bello a,k,a Olope and Aliu Hamzat.


Sheriff Bello a.k.a Olope

Sheriff is a grassroot politician that was formerly known for football coaching before venturing into politics. He is  a former aspirant under PDP before crossing to APC with the executive chairman of Kosofe LG, He is currently serving under the local govt administration of Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe as SSA on revenue collection. He's a trusted ally of the council chairman, which gives him an added advantage in the race to the Kosofe Legislative Council.

Aliu Hamzat

Aliu is a footballer and a close ally to the King of Oworonsoki Kingdom, HRM Babatunde Saliu. He is newly venturing into politics and hopes to start on a good footing by vying for the highly-coveted grassroot political position.

We hope more aspirants will signify interest as we inch closer to the electioneering campaign period. Who will succeed the outgoing councillor at Ward B Oworonsoki? Only time shall reveal it

EFCC has begun monitoring Local Government Funds

  It is no longer a news that LGAs now have financial autonomy,owing to the supreme court verdict of 2024, affirming that LGAs should receive their monthly FAAC Allocations directly from the Country's treasury. According to the Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Mimister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, The allocations of the LG funds will take effect by february. In lieu of this, The Anti-graft body of the federation, EFCC has announced that the has started monitoring the funds so that it won't be mismanaged or laundered abroad through the whims and caprices of corruption that is endemic in our political system. This is a welcome development by the anti-graft agency, beaming it's searchlight on the grassroots administration funds.   Hamzat Aliu is a true son of the soil in oworonsoki community, owing to his veritable background and unassailable achievement in community development.
