Ward B Oworonsoki Councillorship Seat Contest in view









The race to occupy the Ward B Oworonsoki Councillorship Seat will soon be open as the current councillor, Prince Kehinde Raheem Saliu will be rounding up his 2nd tenure by 2025. Aspirants have been nursing intentions to vie for the most-coveted seat at the grassroot level under APC. Some of the aspirants, in no particular order are Hon. Abayomi Elugbindin, Muyiwa Olatiboye, Lanre Aborishade, Adetutu Umar and Kehinde Omotehinse. 


Abayomi Elugbindin


Abayomi is a current supervisory councillor to the executive chairman of kosofe LG. he was also a 2-timer aspirant of the seat and a former personal assistant to Hon. Ekundayo Yacoob Alebiosu a.k.a D-bush. He appears to be a top contender for the post,owing to the loyalty privileges he derives from the Alebiosu Dynasty and been a former aspirant. 


Muyiwa Olatiboye

Muyiwa is the embattled youth leader of the ward and he has declared his interest to vie for the post, being a first-time aspirant. He is the brain-behind APC Oworonsoki Youth Forum

Lanre Aborishade

Lanre is also aspiring to become a councillor of the ward. he's a youth convener and a first-time aspirant.

Kehinde Omotehinse

Kehinde is also aspiring for the post. he's the co-founder of Oworonsoki Youth Movement(OYM). He's a youth convener and need to test the water of politics by declaring his interest to vie for the councillorship seat.

Adetutu Umar

Adetutu is the only lady that has shown interest in vying for the seat. She is a vibrant youth and a first-time aspirant.

More aspirants are expected to join the race as time goes on. Who will emerge as APC candidate for the councillorship election in Ward B Oworonsoki? only time shall tell.

EFCC has begun monitoring Local Government Funds

  It is no longer a news that LGAs now have financial autonomy,owing to the supreme court verdict of 2024, affirming that LGAs should receive their monthly FAAC Allocations directly from the Country's treasury. According to the Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Mimister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, The allocations of the LG funds will take effect by february. In lieu of this, The Anti-graft body of the federation, EFCC has announced that the has started monitoring the funds so that it won't be mismanaged or laundered abroad through the whims and caprices of corruption that is endemic in our political system. This is a welcome development by the anti-graft agency, beaming it's searchlight on the grassroots administration funds.
