Hon. Kafilat Adetola OGBARA |
The honourable member representing kosofe federal constituency at the house of reps, Kafilat Ogbara is fast losing her grip on the constituency, owing to the presidential palliatives saga and her ghost mode nature in the constituency, which contradicts her vibrancy and tenacity at the lower chamber of the national assembly.
The legislator came to limelight in 2023, succeeding her predecessor, Hon. Rotimi Ojo Agunsoye a.k.a R.O.T, after her unsuccessful attempts at the house of rep ticket while at the opposition party, PDP since 2007. Going down memory lane, her sojourn in APC after decamping started with her support for the aspiration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, through a support group that was code-named SWAGA, in which she was the Secretary-General. She rose to prominent, travelling round the south-western states, advocating supports for asiwaju at the presidential election, which yielded a desired result.
It is worthy of note that the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Mayoress Samiat Abolanle Bada sprearheaded the choice of Ogbara as the APC's flagbearer, with the support of the chairmen of Kosofe LG and Agboyi-Ketu Respectively. From a reliable source, it was revealed that ogbara is at loggerheads with mayoress over the disbursement of presidential palliatives from abuja,in which ogbara allegedly sidelined the 3 council chairs.
Furthermore, She was also alleged to be fronting a factional group named; TINUBU MANDATE MOVEMENT Constrasting the mandate movement led by R.O.T in Larger Kosofe, in a bid to wrestle power with the political enchelons of kosofe ahead of her 2nd tenure that is far from approaching as we speak.
Rumours also has it that she had severed ties with the 2 GAC Leaders in kosofe, whose supports she enjoyed while seeking to become a federal legislator, and this was evident in the absence of the leaders at the town-hall meeting she recently organized.
Lastly, She is known to be at the forefront of legislative matters at the lower chamber of the national assembly, contributing to topical issues that forms national discuss but she seems to be missing in action at the home front, exhibiting a ghost-mode attitude. some constituents have even criticized her incessant photo paparazzi in abuja as a "misplaced priority".
Can we then say that Ogbara is rapidly losing her holds on kosofe constituency? Is one year too short to access her perfomance and achievement in office? Over to the court of public opinion.....
