Oworonsoki youths creates whatsapp forum, pushes for more appointive positions

Oworonsoki is a semi-urban settlement that connects the lagos mainland to lagos island. It is surrounded by water bodies and has a population of more than 100,000 people. it's worthy of note that oworonsoki contributes the largest chunk of electoral votes that kosofe LG garners in any election cycle but the gains doesn't commensurate with the efforts expended before, during and after general election.

The town is plaqued with under-development and lack of basic social amenities that makes life comfortable. it has only one functioning bank, with 2 others that is still under locks and keys as we speak. There's no proper market in oworo and the roads are in a deplorable condition.

Oworonsoki hasn't faired well in terms of quality representation of councillors fron the 2 wards (A and B), in which the current councillor of ward A hasn't done any meaningful project since inauguration and his counterpart from ward B has been constructing a simple borehole for 3years now while leaving office next year. Appointive positions too hasn't been forthcoming as oworonsoki happens to be the most marginalised area in Kosofe LGA.

This is what prompted the youths to open a whatsapp forum called "GROW OWORO MOVEMENT", so as to brainstorm how to put forward a credible and capable candidates for the councillorship positions of the 2 wards. This group is devoid of political party affiliations as the goal is to support purpose-driven individuals to emerge as councillors next year. In Addition, The forum will be clamouring for more reasonable appointive positions in government so that the dividends of democracy can have a multiplier effect on oworonsoki people.

OWORO IS READY!!!
