Meet APC Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Chairmanship Aspirants

The incumbent chairman of Agboyi-ketu LCDA will be bowing out of office next year, as the race to occupy his position is gathering much-needed momentum within the ruling party. Some aspirants has shown interest in the most coveted grassroot position and in no particular order, here are their names and description of portfolios:

1. Agboola Oluwadamilare Lawanson a.k.a Igi T'olorun Gbin, is a dynamic youth and the son of Late Lawanson, at Alapere. He is an enterpreneur and IT professional. He wants to test his popularity by vying for the chairmanship position.

2. Musiliu Abiodun Salami is the former APC Lagos state assistant publicity secretary under the chairmanship of Chief Dele Ajomale. He is a grassroot politician that has cut his teeth in the politics of agboyi-ketu and kosofe at large. He will be relying on his past achievements to secure the chairmanship ticket.

3. Bashiru Saheed Omogbolahan a.k.a Elewedu is the current ward "d" councillor that has performed well in office. he has executed several empowerment and skills acquisition programs, also facilitated series of laudable projects to his ward through the council chairman. he will be banking on his cordial relationship with mayor dele oshinowo, to get the party's ticket.

4. Femi Opabola is also a vibrant youth that is coming from the diaspora to contest for the council chair ticket. He came into limelight by donating souvenirs to Hon. Femi Saheed, Lagos State House of Assemly member  representing kosofe constituency 2, during his electioneering campaign period. He will be relying on fate and sheer luck to realize his ambition

5. Lasiru Abiodun Ogungbo is a thorough-bred politician that has grown in knowledge of kosofe political terrain,precisely that of his constituency; Agboyi-Ketu. He shares rank with Abiodun Salami as the most experienced amongst the contestants. Assuredly, He enjoys the goodwill of the 2 GAC Leaders and will be capitalizing on their unphatomable gesture to seal the APC council chair ticket.

Who will emerge as party's favourite among them? Will imposition and God-fatherism be at play during the decision-making process of the leaders? Will the incumbent chairman be presenting an anointed aspirant? Only time shall tell.....

Lastly, more aspirants are expected to join the race as time progresses.

EFCC has begun monitoring Local Government Funds

  It is no longer a news that LGAs now have financial autonomy,owing to the supreme court verdict of 2024, affirming that LGAs should receive their monthly FAAC Allocations directly from the Country's treasury. According to the Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Mimister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, The allocations of the LG funds will take effect by february. In lieu of this, The Anti-graft body of the federation, EFCC has announced that the has started monitoring the funds so that it won't be mismanaged or laundered abroad through the whims and caprices of corruption that is endemic in our political system. This is a welcome development by the anti-graft agency, beaming it's searchlight on the grassroots administration funds.
