Meet APC Kosofe LG Ward A Oworonsoki Councillorship Aspirants

 Kosofe LG is set for another round of electioneering campaign, as some councillors will be leaving while some will be vying for a second tenure. Ward A Oworonsoki will be having a new councillor, as the incumbent councillor will be bowing out of office after an appalling 7years with little or no substantial performance. Some APC aspirants have signified their interest in the most competitive grassroot position. Here are the names and descriptions of the aspirants in no particular order;

1. Segun Leramo, also known as God Bless is a thorough-bred grassrooter,who happens to be a successful photo/videographer, He has trained some oworonsoki youths on photo/videography, empowering them to be self-employed. He uses his resources on many occasions to support the party. A question was posed to him by moschinoblog "Why do you want to vie for councillor position in Ward A?", which he responded saying "i'm vying for the councilorship position bacause i want to make a positive impact in my community". He submitted that God is his motivation.

2. Moses Oladimeji Adekoya is the deputy chief of staff to the incumbent kosofe council chairman. This will be his 2nd attempt at the position,as he lost at the  2021 APC primaries to the current councillor, Hon. Adewale Omofojoye. His closeness to the council chair might work in his favour this time around.

3. Olaoluwa Adeleke Oduroye is an old horse that has been vying for the councillorship post for a long time. He's a grassroot politician that has cut his teeth in the politics of kosofe. Let's see if fate will beam a gentle smile on him this time.

4. Sunday Jonathan Odubamise is another old timer in oworonsoki politics and he's currently the supervisory councillor on tourism at Kosofe LGA. He has also been vying for the position for a long time,though he hasn't yet declared his intention to vie for the post but rumour has it that he will be throwing his hat into the politically ring again as the incumbent will be leaving office. He enjoys a good relationship with the 2 Kosofe GAC Leaders and that can work in his favour now.

5. Saliu Adekunle, Otherwise known as Africa, is a youth enthusiast and he was the chairman,electoral committee of the recently-concluded National Council of Youth in Nigera(Lagos Chapter) election. As we speak, he hasn't declared his intention to run for office but a flyer posted as cover photo(dated 2023) on his facebook account confirms the suspicion. He will be testing his popularity in the ward with his councillorship aspiration.

Who amongst these political gradiators will secure the Apc ticket of Ward A Oworonsoki in the next ward election slated for 2025? Will the leaders annoints a competent person amongst them if push comes to shove? who will liberated the ward from imposition and bad representation? I guess only time shall reveal such.

More aspirants are expected to join the race as we inches closer to the judgement day, according to the popular saying "The more the merrier....."

EFCC has begun monitoring Local Government Funds

  It is no longer a news that LGAs now have financial autonomy,owing to the supreme court verdict of 2024, affirming that LGAs should receive their monthly FAAC Allocations directly from the Country's treasury. According to the Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Mimister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, The allocations of the LG funds will take effect by february. In lieu of this, The Anti-graft body of the federation, EFCC has announced that the has started monitoring the funds so that it won't be mismanaged or laundered abroad through the whims and caprices of corruption that is endemic in our political system. This is a welcome development by the anti-graft agency, beaming it's searchlight on the grassroots administration funds.
