Meet Ward B Oworonsoki Councillorship Aspirants

 Orile Oworo Ward B is on the march again to elect a new councillor,as the incumbent will be exiting the office soon. Here are names and descriptions of some APC aspirants that have shown interest in the most coveted grassroot position in no particular order;

1. Aliu Omotolani Hamzat is a young man with big ambitions to achieve, one of which is to transform Ward B Oworonsoki into a community that is worthy of emulation by others. He organizes football competition to spice up the social lives of the youth through the round-leather game. He also involves in organizing musical concerts/shows at the famous papa oworonsoki recreational centre on a weekly basis. Hence, He will be testing his popularity as a councillorship aspirant of Orile-Oworo Ward B.

2. Muyiwa Olatiboye , Otherwise known as Lastborn is a deposed youth leader of Ward B Oworonsoki and a grassroot mobilizer. he will be vying for the councillorship position for the first time. He is expected to leverage on the influence of his boss, The Commissioner IV, Lagos State Audit Commission, Alhaji Musiliudeen Alade Aigoro to secure the position.

3. Abayomi Elugbindin is a supervisory councillor for health at kosofe local government council and former personal assistant to the current commissioner for waterfront infrastructure development, otunba dayo bush. He has been vying for the councillorship position for a long time and will be fancying his chances at the juicy position again,using his cordial relationship with the alebiosu's political dynasty as an added advantage. Meanwhile,Rumour has it that he's the favourite aspirant of the leaders.

4. Prince Kehinde Omotehinse, Also known as P.K.O, is a youth movement leader and grassroot mobilizer. He will be contesting the position for the first time and he hopes unwittingly that luck will smile on him to land the prestigious position.

5. Sheriff Bello, Commonly known as Olope, is a football coach-turned politician. He has once contested for the councillorship position under PDP before moving to the ruling party with the kosofe council chairman, Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe. He currently serving as an SSA at the council secretariat. He hopes to latch unto the influence of the council chairman in realizing his age-long ambition.

EFCC has begun monitoring Local Government Funds

  It is no longer a news that LGAs now have financial autonomy,owing to the supreme court verdict of 2024, affirming that LGAs should receive their monthly FAAC Allocations directly from the Country's treasury. According to the Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Mimister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, The allocations of the LG funds will take effect by february. In lieu of this, The Anti-graft body of the federation, EFCC has announced that the has started monitoring the funds so that it won't be mismanaged or laundered abroad through the whims and caprices of corruption that is endemic in our political system. This is a welcome development by the anti-graft agency, beaming it's searchlight on the grassroots administration funds.
