Meet Your APC Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Chairmanship Aspirants

Electioneering campaign is here again in ikosi-isheri LCDA as the imcumbent chairman will be seeking a re-election, that has generated unresolved arguments on her eligibility to re-contest, having expended the tenure of the late former chairman, abdulfatai oyesanya. Some aspirants have indicated their interest to slug it out with the incumbent at the APC primaries. here are the names and descriptions of the aspirants in no particular order;

1. Prince Bidemi Akintunde a.k.a PBA Stainless, is a vibrant youth from diaspora, who is the current publicity secretary of APC Netherlands. He is always on ground to support the party during campaigns and elections, which enabled him to have a large support base within the APC members of Ikosi-Isheri. He has done series of empowerment programs and has been usually handy for the less-privileged people in the community. He will be hoping that his steadfastness in the party will transform into good luck charm for him to secure the party's ticket.


2. Adetunji Adebajo a.k.a Dudu is a grassroot politician in ikosi-isheri and this makes it 3rd time that he is contesting for the chairmanship ticket under APC. He is a well-known personality in the politics of Larger Kosofe, owing to the fact that he has been around for a long time. He is hopeful that this 3rd attempt at the most-coveted grassroot position will be fruitful.


3. Samiat Abolanle Bada a.k.a Mayoress is the incumbent chairman of the LCDA. She is well loved by her teeming supporters within the party and she will be leveraging on her performance and achievements in office, coupled with her tupsy-turvy relationship with the 2 Kosofe GAC Leaders to seal her re-election party ticket.


4. Akeem Babatunde Adeyemi a.k.a Irewolede is an old-timer and a core APC member that has been around the political circle of ikosi-isheri for a long time. He is an astute administrator that has distinguished himself in his career path and also in politics. He will be relying on his longevity in the party and goodwill to secure the party ticket.


5. Anna Abiodun Martins is an APC chieftain, who has paid her dues in the political stratosphere of ikosi-isheri. She will be using her good rapport with the Apex leaders of the party as an added advantage to be favoured over others.


              

6. Babatunde Adetunji is a grassroot politician that has also been around for a while, though he hasn't held any elective or appointive political position before. He will be relying on fate and recompense to land the ticket.

 

Will mayoress be re-elected as council chair? What will be the stand of the Apex leaders on her re-election? Will fresh candidate emerged from the primaries? I guess only time shall tell...

Meanwhile, more aspirants are expected to show interest as time goes on, even though most of them are just serial poster aspirants, otherwise known as pretenders.

EFCC has begun monitoring Local Government Funds

  It is no longer a news that LGAs now have financial autonomy,owing to the supreme court verdict of 2024, affirming that LGAs should receive their monthly FAAC Allocations directly from the Country's treasury. According to the Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Mimister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, The allocations of the LG funds will take effect by february. In lieu of this, The Anti-graft body of the federation, EFCC has announced that the has started monitoring the funds so that it won't be mismanaged or laundered abroad through the whims and caprices of corruption that is endemic in our political system. This is a welcome development by the anti-graft agency, beaming it's searchlight on the grassroots administration funds.
