Comprehensive List of APC Ward A Councillorship Aspirants

As we look forward to the LG elections next year, Ward A Oworonsoki is agog with some aspirants that have indicated interest in vying for the councillorship position of the Ward. Here are the names and description of the aspirants in no particular order;

1. Sunday Jonathan Odubamise: He is the Supervisory Councillor for Tourism and a former councillorship aspirant of the ward. He is a former ward coordinator of the Justice Forum and a grassroot mobilizer. He enjoys a good relationship with the 2 GAC members and hopes to capitalize on that to seal the party's ticket.


 

2. Olaoluwa Adeleke Oduroye: He is an old horse in oworonsoki politics and he is a former councillorship aspirant. He is the secretary of ibukun-oluwa CDA and aligns with the Justice Forum Group of the APC. He will be capitalizing on the goodwill he enjoys from the Alebiosu's Dynasty to land the councillorship ticket of the party.


3. Adekunle Saliu a.k.a Africa: He is a youth advocate that aligns with the National Youth Council of Nigeria(NYCN), in which he was the chairman, election committee of NYCN Lagos Chapter Election  that was recently conducted. He had contested for the councillorship position in the past and will be relying on the youth cadre of the party to realize his ambition. 


4. Moses Oladimeji Adekoya a.k.a ilufemiloye: He is the deputy chief of staff to kosofe council chairman and a former APC councillorship aspirant in 2021. He will be relying on his close relationship with the council chairman to obtain the party's ticket.


5. Segun Leraro a.k.a Godbless: He has been supporting the party for a long time through his photo/videography profession, giving free services at party's event. He yearly engaged the youths of the ward in skill acquisition programs ranging from photo/videography,hair-making,make-ups and so on. He will be relying on his charitable services to pave the way for him in securing the most sought-after party's ticket.


6. Christianah Kuboye-Uyamogha: She is the only female aspirant that has indicated interest in vying for the councillorship post of the Ward. She is a grassroot mobilizer and member of the APC Kosofe youth wing. As the ward hasn't produced any female councillor before, she will be fancying her chances in currying the favour of the party leaders to seal the ticket.


Who will emerge as the party's candidate from these aspirants? Will there be a level-playing field for all the aspirants? Only time will tell......

EFCC has begun monitoring Local Government Funds

  It is no longer a news that LGAs now have financial autonomy,owing to the supreme court verdict of 2024, affirming that LGAs should receive their monthly FAAC Allocations directly from the Country's treasury. According to the Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Mimister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, The allocations of the LG funds will take effect by february. In lieu of this, The Anti-graft body of the federation, EFCC has announced that the has started monitoring the funds so that it won't be mismanaged or laundered abroad through the whims and caprices of corruption that is endemic in our political system. This is a welcome development by the anti-graft agency, beaming it's searchlight on the grassroots administration funds.
