Apena declares his intention to vie for Kosofe LGA Chairmanship Seat


 

Former Ward "C" Ifako/Gbagada Councillorship Aspirant and Ex-Senior Legislative Aide to the Immediate Past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Olusegun Ismail Apena a.k.a Apenaism has hinted on his readiness to vie for the chairmanship seat of Kosofe LGA under APC. He made this known via an expression of interest letter, published on all political whatsapp platforms.


Apena is a savvy writer and political journalist who has a wealth of experience in grassroot politics and community development. He belongs to the R.O.T political bloc in kosofe and will be relying on his mutual relationship with Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye and Alhaji Musiliudeen Alade Aigoro to realise his dream ambition.

Horever, There is an herculean task to be summounted if he is to actualize his ambition, which is the incumbent chairman, Barr. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe a.k.a White Lion, who is seeking a re-election into office. Other Contestants are Olayinka Rabiu a.k.a Whytee and Lanre Balogun a.k.a Balo.

Can he defeat Moyo at the primaries? Does he have all it takes to realize this lofty dream of his? Will the leaders picks him ahead of the incumbent chairman? Will there be a level-playing field at the selection process by the leaders? Will there be a consensus or direct or indirect primaries? Only time shall reveal the answers to these ambiguous questions.

EFCC has begun monitoring Local Government Funds

  It is no longer a news that LGAs now have financial autonomy,owing to the supreme court verdict of 2024, affirming that LGAs should receive their monthly FAAC Allocations directly from the Country's treasury. According to the Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Mimister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, The allocations of the LG funds will take effect by february. In lieu of this, The Anti-graft body of the federation, EFCC has announced that the has started monitoring the funds so that it won't be mismanaged or laundered abroad through the whims and caprices of corruption that is endemic in our political system. This is a welcome development by the anti-graft agency, beaming it's searchlight on the grassroots administration funds.
